How we may help
Our advocates can:

- Assist you in getting minimum wage, overtime, and unpaid wages.
- Help you get occupational or driver's licenses needed to work.
- Answer questions and refer you to help with workplace retaliation or discrimination.
- Help workers and their families get government benefits needed to stay working after leaving welfare, or to survive during a job search.
- Give talks to community groups and social services agencies about employment law issues.
How to get help
All of our program offices handle employment problems. If you have an emergency, we will see you as soon as we can. We ask that you call first if your problem is not an emergency. Click here to find the office nearest you. When you come in, bring any and all papers you have about your problem.
If you can't come in
If you are disabled or you cannot travel to one of our offices, call us to arrange a telephone intake interview.
Emergencies
You can lose important rights by waiting too long to get help. If you have an emergency (such as an appeal deadline or a hearing), call our nearest office and explain. If your local office is not taking intake at that time, call our downtown office at (504) 529-1000, ext. 247, to see if we can help. |
