Southeast Louisiana Legal Services News: > All Offices Closed on September 4 and 5

Due to Hurricane Gustav, all offices of Southeast Louisiana Legal Services ( and New Orleans Legal Assistance) will be closed on Thursday, September 4, and Friday, September 5. The New Orleans and Hammond offices now have power. All staff may have access to New Orleans or Hammond offices on September 5 for work as needed. Computers should be restored to full operation in New Orleans and Hammond offices by Friday noon. We expect that all offices will reopen for full public business on Monday, September 8.

Staff access to New Orleans office on September 5 may be limited by any city curfew or building closure time, currently 6 pm.

Drive carefully on your return trip from evacuation destination. Traffic lights are out at many intersections. Most businesses (food, restaurants, etc.) were closed on Thursday. The closer you get to Southeast Louisiana, the less gasoline available for refueling.
